Mod post.
1. Everyone, back up your fics here in the event anything nasty happens. Lock down anything even borderline until you've done so, then delete it from the comm.

2. Re-start the comm over at GJ and/or IJ? Yea or nay?

It can go either way for me, I've got an account at both. But if you want to stick around here that's fine too. However I'm no longer posting fic here at LJ, and if you write something too "obscene" for anyone to handle and then link from GJ/IJ to here, the comm can still get banned for it. S'up to you of course.

If it stays here, I think I'll have to impose some ratings rules. Which, y'know, completely sucks, but I can't afford to get banned, since they don't just ban the comm, but everything created from the IP address. And I run a lot of RPGs, so that could get very, very bad.

I think for now we should wait to leave, but lock things and and be very careful about what we post.

1. I'll get on that now.

2. Personally, I say there's no use in waiting. From my standpoint, the sort of stuff I write and post here is the stuff that's under fire, and LJ/6A have made it very clear that there's no happy resolution coming. If I couldn't write and post freely without risking the comm. and its moderators' saftey, I feel the challenge would hold no interest to me anymore. Which is a shame, because this community and its prompts have driven me to create what, I feel, is some of my best fiction.

I would gladly join at GJ/IJ, but if staying here means limitations, I don't think I could, or would want to, write like I used to.

At this point, I'm thinking I might just opt to create mirror comms elsewhere and crosspost the prompts to each, and just let the members write wherever they're most comfortable? Because I very much see your point (and you've certainly written sone great stuff out of this challenge).

Although, ack, that sounds like. You know. Work. Possibly I should look into getting another co-mod or two, since I'm on my own now. Hm. Idle musings.

I am definitely in support of that idea. Then both sides of the Boldthrough fence can get in on the Ficathon, regardless of what journal site they call home.

I do see what you mean about the more comms = more work issue, though. You already have so much on your plate, adding mirror comms is hardly going to help that. Maybe you could try getting one co-mod for each of the HP_Ficathons on other journal sites? *Shrug* Just a suggestion. I'd be happy to offer my services as a co-mod for IJ, if you decided to go that route.

I'd be willing to co-mod too! :D

Just curious on what's going on over here. Other than the obvious :)

Wondering the same thing as buyo105. No pressure, of course. I'm sure you've got a lot of things going on your end. I just had a desire to write, and that reminded me to come on over and take a peek at hp_ficathon.

Hello! I don't know if you have any interest in restarting this community or not (if you do, that's great and I'll be here with bells on!) but if NOT I was hoping you'd be willing to let others borrow the idea? I love the concept and would love to see it utilized for a multi-fandom ficathon. Original credit will go to you of course. If not I understand, but I thought I would ask :)

Came via the [Bad username: the_daily_snitch].

I belong to sites that migrated the majority of work to IJ. Cross-posting is not so bad from the writer's point-of-view.

Maybe you might want to talk to the mods of [info]pervy_werewolf and [info]lupin_snape on IJ or some other comms? They would be folks with practical knowledge.
